About Us

Viskans Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Clinic is centrally located in Borås and is an outpatient clinic for children and young people with a population base of 34,000 children.

At our clinic, we have specialist-trained pediatricians, pediatric nurses, child psychologists, pediatric dietitians, and medical secretaries, all with extensive experience in pediatric care. We work closely in teams around the patient, where each profession contributes with its specialist competence. We assess and treat children and adolescents aged 0-18 years, with conditions ranging from asthma and allergies to gastrointestinal diseases, obesity, epilepsy, other neurological issues, and developmental and growth disorders. We also have medical responsibility for children with various syndromes. When needed, we collaborate closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists who can also participate in team visits.

About the Job

As a specialist physician in Pediatrics, we offer you a varied and stimulating outpatient work environment. You will work closely with colleagues and other professionals. We distinctly work in teams. Our referrers are primarily health centers, child health clinics, school health services, and the hospital's emergency department. However, increasingly, specialist clinics within the hospital are referring children for continued care with us. This is part of the transition to close care. We also offer urgent appointments for the youngest children up to six months of age, where issues may include acute respiratory problems, infections, or failure to thrive, where a quick assessment is desired. We have ST physicians continuously for training, and supervision of ST physicians is part of the daily work. Opportunities for personal development are provided both individually and together with the group. We have a good collaborative climate, satisfied patients, and a varied work environment. Our mission includes work with Specialist Child Health Clinics and also Small Children Teams. The collaboration form Early Detection - Early Intervention is based on mapping small children in need of interventions from several actors in a cross-professional team with representatives from primary care, specialist care, and the municipality. The operation is open weekdays from Monday to Friday.

About You

We are looking for someone with a specialist training in pediatrics and an interest in maintaining a broad general pediatric competence. As a person, you contribute to a good working environment and collaboration. We place great importance on personal qualities such as teamwork, holistic view, flexibility, and responsibility. You find it easy to build trust with patients and guardians. You see it as natural to have a good attitude and professional approach towards both patients and colleagues.
